London Skyline’s debut album is getting a re-release with a more expressive and careful approach. The remastered album will be released on December 6 and will be available on Bandcamp and all the major digital outlets and streaming services.
“The idea for the re-release came after I completed my training as a professional mastering engineer. I founded Sjötta Sound, an online mastering service and as the mastering studio was under constant development, I wanted to hone my skills, as well as to try the expanding set of appliances and plugins that were bred for mastering,” Tamas said. “The first iteration of the album was mastered by Waves via their AI-powered service and I was never really satisfied with how the final version of the album sounded.”
Most of the songs were remastered from the original mixes but some needed subtle re-mixing as well, which were also done at Sjötta Studio in Budapest, Hungary.
In addition to the tracklist identical to the first release, two bonus songs will be on the remastered edition: an energetic new song already released as a single titled AOLB and Shift Suite, the music from the re-scored version of SHIFT, a short film directed by Chen Sing Yap. This film soundtrack came in at a respectable 31st place out of 175 submissions at the Summer 2024 edition of the Indie Film Music Contest.
“I thoroughly enjoyed composing and recording to moving picture, I think that is a form where the London Skyline project can truly shine. Cannot wait to get back to do it again in some form,” Tamas added. “Right now though I am very excited to release London Skyline much closer to what I intended to put out in the first place and to finish Shift Variations which is gradually departing from being an offshoot to the re-scoring project. I had to put it on the back-burner but watch out for more London Skyline music coming very early next year.”
London Skyline Remastered Edition is coming December 6, 2024 on Bandcamp and all major digital services.
